Sharpsburg, MD

Antietam National Cemetery was established in 1865 by the state of Maryland for burial of the men who died in the Maryland Campaign of 1862. The remains of 4,776 Federal soldiers are buried here along with more than two hundred non-Civil War soldiers from later wars.
