Jun 1864 Col., commanded 2nd Bde/3rd Divn/Cavalry Corps in Shenandoah Valley campaign, Winchester, Cedar Creek, Petersburg, Appomattox. May 1865 appointed BG Vols.
Post War: Adjutant General of Vermont, internal revenue collector, politician.
