Arunah Allen Brown was born in Stockbridge, Vermont, February 5, 1840, the son of John Brown and Irena Mixer. He served in Company C, 1st Calvary Regiment. After the war he married Francelia Marion Hill. In 1872 they homesteaded in Buffalo Co., Nebraska at the site of what is now the Kearney NE airport. He died of (family records say) "consumption" in 1879. He is buried in Kearney NE. His wife and three children remained in Buffalo Co., Nebraska.
