The death of Benjamin P. Brown takes one of the old soldiers and pensioners from the fast thinning ranks of those heroes who preserved our liberties in the trying years of the great rebellion. Mr. Brown was a member of Company H, 8th Vt. Vols. His funeral was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chamberlain, last Saturday, Rev. H. E. Buffum officiating. The burial was in the village cemetery.
