Jerome Bonaparte Casavant

Sioux City Journal, May 26, 1918

Newcastle, Neb., May 25. - Special: Jerome Bonaparte Casavant, 93 years old and an early settler of Dixon county, is dead. Mr. Casavant came here from Vermont in 1865, driving a team of oxen. He brought two of his children with him. His wife followed in the fall. For twenty years until about six months ago Mr. Casavant made his home with children residing in Sioux City. He was the father of nine children, five of whom were boys. Mrs. Casavant died a number of years ago.
