Samuel E. Barnard

Samuel E. Barnard, an inmate of the Vermont Soldiers' home, died at that institution early this morning. He enlisted from Plainfield, N.J., September 10, 1862, in company A of the 16th New Hampshire volunteers. He was discharged August 20, 1863. A year later he re-enlisted and served to the end of the war. He was first admitted to the home from Springfield in March 1896. He was discharged in November of the same year, but was re-admitted in April, 1910. The burial will be in the cemetery at the home.
