Warren Ellis, aged 64 years, died at the Heaton hospital in Montpelier, last week Tuesday. He had been in the hospital since Sept. 1, since which time his condition had been growing worse He injured his knee about fifteen years ago, and has never fully recovered from the injury

He was a member of Co. E. 17th Vt. regiment in the Civil War.

He was to have been one of the States witnesses in the McLane murder case.
