Obituary

GROTON

Obed Emery, Veteran of Civil War, Died Early This Week.

Obed Emery, aged about 80 years, passed away Sunday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lund in the north part of the town. Mrs. Lund, who was an aunt of Mr. Emery, had cared for him for a number of years, the past two years of which he had been nearly helpless. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon with burial in the village cemetery. Mr. Emery married Ella Page, who died many years ago. He leaves one daughter, Miss Rose Emery, who resides in Woodsville, N.H., and one son, and one brother, Timothy Emery, and a sister, Mrs. Moulton, of Topsham. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil war.
