Charles L. Erwin

St. Johnsbury Caledonian-Record, Dec. 28, 1922

Many here were pained to learn of the death of Dr. Charles L. Erwin at Newport Center Monday night. He was in the 79th year of his age, a veteran of the Civil War and dean of the medical profession in this section. He graduated from the medical department of the University of Vermont in 1867, immediately locating at Newport Center, where he had ever since remained in practice, and probably had ridden more miles than any other practitioner in this section. At one time he practiced extensively in this place and vicinity.
