Azro F. Hackett, nearly 82 years old, died at his home in Winooski May 5th. He was born in Norwich in 1820, and while still a young man moved to Westford, where he lived about 50 years.

At the outbreak of the Civil war he enlisted as bugler in Co. M., 1st Vt. Cavalry. He served with his regiment until after the battle of Gettysburg, where he sustained injuries from which he never recovered.
