Obituary

Orrin C. Hughes, assistant manager of the Hotel Barre, and Mrs. Hughes returned last evening from Burlington, where they were called by the illness and death of Mr. Hughes' father, Charles Hughes, who passed away Sunday. The deceased was 72 years, a native of Burlington, and a veteran of the Civil War, having served in the 1st Vermont Regiment. Three of his four sons surviving are with the American armies in France.
