Homer Hurlburt died Saturday morning after a lingering illness. He was a veteran of the Civil War and there are only two more left of the number that responded to their country’s call in Grand Isle. He was also for several years light-house keeper in the channel between the islands until his health failed. Archie Hurlburt, his son from Boston, and Webster Dixon of Somerville, Mass., were called here by his death. He leaves three children, Victor of Grand Isle, Archibald and Bessie, wife of Edson Gordon of Grand Isle.
