Henry Johnson of Rutland, step-father of Mrs. Edward Estes, died suddenly of heart failure at the home of his son, George Johnson, last Wednesday in Taunton, Mass. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, being a member of Co.C, 2nd Vt. Reg., enlisting at Castleton. Mr. Johnson was born in Rutland, where he had lived most of his life and was a highly respected citizen. The body was removed from Taunton to Rutland where the funeral was held from his home on Friday the G.A.R. having charge of the services. The Rev. Mr. Osborne officiating. There was a profusion of flowers. Mr. Johnson's age was 70 years. He leaves a widow three sons, one daughter, and four step-children. For several years Mr. Johnson had made an annual visit to Woodford. Mr. and Mrs. Estes and daughter Ruth attended the funeral.
