Obituary

RANDOLPH -- HENRY JOHNSON CIVIL WAR VETERAN DROPPED DEAD SUNDAY EVENING

Henry Johnson, a Civil War veteran, living on School Street, died suddenly on Sunday night. Mr. Johnson had not been quite as well as usual through the day, having a slight cold, but was around and went into the bathroom and fell dead. The physician was summoned, and a nurse, but it was decided that he was gone when he fell. In the fall he made a slight cut on his head, but not enough to have caused his death.

Mr. Johnson came here from the east part of town several years ago and bought the Smith Place on School Street, where he has lived since that time. Deceased is survived by his wife, who was Ella Herrick, daughter of Rev. E. E. Herrick of Milton. The funeral will be held in the parish house on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Fraser Metzger officiating'

Deceased was a member of the G. A. R. Post, and was also affiliated with the Masonic Fraternity, of which he was a longtime member.
