Obituary
For the Journal
In the battle of the Wilderness, May 5th, in a charge made by the Vt. Troops at 4 o'clock, P. M., Lewis M. Spaulding, aged 20 years, and Horace B. Stoddard, aged 21 years and 9 months; the former a member of Co. H, 6th Reg't, the latter of Co. F, 2nd Reg't. Also, on the next day, Geo. M. Jones, aged 20 years and 4 months, a member of the 2nd Reg't, U. S. Sharp Shooters. All were shot in the head and instantly killed. All were from Waitsfield.
