CIVIL WAR VETERAN DIES AT AGE OF 90
Joseph Lambert Sr. Served with 5th Vermont Volunteers - Funeral Monday

The death of Joseph Lambert, Sr., occurred at the home of his son, Joseph Lambert, on the Sheldon Road this morning after an illness since January.

Mr. Lambert was born in Highgate September 17, 1842 and was a Civil War Veteran having served in Company C, 5th Vermont Volunteers and was a member of Swanton Post G. A. R. He leaves nine children, Mrs. Mary Furkey of Fairfield, Mrs. Matilda Beauvais of Milton, Joseph Lambert of Swanton, Benjamin Lambert of Swanton, George Lambert of Bakersfield, Mrs. Fannie Beauvais of Burlington and Mrs. Clara Burt of St. Albans City.

The funeral will be held from St. Louis Catholic Church, Highgate, Monday morning and burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery there.
