Biography

George A. Lamphear, usually spelled Lanphear, was born about 1839 in Windham, Windham Co., Vermont, son of Hosea Lanphear and Abigail Sherwin. He was living in Grafton, Windham County in 1863. George filed for an invalid pension on 13 January 1879, Application #264922; Certificate #296378. He died on 7 December 1913 and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
