Obituary
Maj. C. H. Forbes, one of the well-known veterans of the civil war, who recently died at his home in Brandon, went into the service as a lieutenant of the Fifth Vermont, and was acting assistant adjutant of the old Vermont brigade all the time that it was under the command of Gen. L. A. Grant. For a number of years he had been a pension agent. He was a prominent G. A. R. Comrade, being a member of Ormsbee post and a past commander.
