EDWARD BALCH DIED AFTER
AFTER AN ILLNESS OF BUT ONE WEEK
Edward E. Balch, a resident of Omaha since 1866, died at his home, 3215 Dodge Street, at 8 o'clock last night of congestion of the brain. He had been sick just a week. He is survived by his widow and two daughters, the latter being Mesdames A. L. Reed and Isaac Coles, both of this city.
Mr. Balch was born in New York state Sixty-nine years ago. He was one of the assistant cashiers of Omaha National bank, retaining that position until about six years ago, when he resigned. He then became connected with with Byron Reed company, and was associated with the company at the time of his death.
Some six months ago Mr. Balch had a stroke of paralysis, and although he recovered from the affects, his health had not been good since, and it is thought that this had to do with congestion of the brain. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, Dean Tancock of Trinity Cathedral will have charge of services. Burial will be made in Prospect Hill cemetery.
