A Leg Badly Fractured.

Silas Mitchell of East Fairfield, employed on a St. J. & L. C. construction train, was badly hurt on Friday, receiving a compound fracture of the leg. He was taken to his home and Dr. Sherwood of this place was summoned the amputate the limb, on the supposition that such a course was necessary. On arrival there, however, the doctor deemed it best to wait a while in the hope of saving the leg. The injury is a severe one, and amputation may be advisable.
