LEMUEL H. MOORE

(1836 - 15 February 1866) WAS BORN IN VERMONT.

He enlisted 26 August 1861, and mustered in as a private in Co. E, Fifth Vermont Infantry. He was wounded and taken prison at Savage's Station on 29 June 1862, and paroled on 22 July. He was discharged for wounds on 29 December.

Moore was subsequently appointed Acting Third Assistant Engineer on 24 April 1865, and served on USS Florida in 1865. He was honorably discharged on 15 February 1866. Moore died in Arlington; interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
