In Whiting, Sept. 3d, of typhus fever, Orderly Sergeant Linus Needham aged 23 years and 10 months.

Young Needham responded to the first call for troops, and enlisted in the Brandon company for three months. The past summer he has acted as recruiting officer for the eleventh regiment. Subsequently he enlisted in the Middlebury company under the last call for nine months, and was appointed Orderly Sergeant. We feel his loss keenly, and deeply do we sympathize with his parents, who mourn their eldest son, and the sixth with whom they have been called to part within five years.
