Obituary
BRANDON
Eugene Abel Griswold died at the Mary Fletcher hospital Sunday night after having undergone an operation a few days ago. He was 79 years old and had resided in Brandon for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Griswold; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene Woodruff and Miss Margaret Griswold of Troy, N.Y.; and two sons, Henry J. Griswold of this town and Adrian Griswold, who is a student at the Medical College at Burlington; and one sister, Mrs. Florence Holland of Townsend. Mr. Griswold was a veteran of the Civil War, being a member of Company H, 5th Vermont Infantry. He served for four years and was an ardent member of C.J. Ormsbee Post, No. 28, G.A.R. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the house. The Rev. Walter Thorpe of the Congregational Church officiated and burial was in Pine Hill cemetery.
