E(lmer) D. Rice, a native of Readsboro, died at his home in Hoosick Tunnel, October 10, of pneumonia. He has resided for a number of years in Florida, Mass., being a prominent and respected citizen, active in politics and a member of the C.D. Sanford GAR Post of North Adams. He was about sixty years old and leaves a widow, five sons and two daughters. The funeral was held at his home, Tuesday, October 13. Rev. J.H. Bilger of Florida officiating. The GAR post attended in a body. Burial at Zoar, Mass.
