Jabez H. Hammond, a well-known farmer and stone mason of West Windsor, was accidentally killed under peculiar circumstances June 11. He told his wife after supper, that he had some work to do, and started toward the barn. Mrs. Hammond retired shortly after, woke up three hours later, and not finding her husband, went out to the barn with a lantern, and found his dead body under a manure spreader, the heavy wagon evidently having rolled upon him as he tried to move it alone. Mr. Hammond was about 65 years old.
