Hoxey Constant ROGERS was born in Mt Holly VT on 18 April 1842, son of Joseph A. & Annie Delilah (BARBER) ROGERS. After his Civil War Service he married, on 11 Aug 1865 in Westminster, VT to Teresa Rebecca EMERY. She was born as Teresa Eliza HENDERSON, taken in by Harvey & Rebecca STEARNS of Walpole, NH. Harvey STEARNS died and Rebecca married Ira EMERY, who legally adopted Teresa, changing her name to Teresa Rebecca EMERY.
Hoxey and Teresa lived in Westminster, VT, Walpole, NH and briefly (around 1870s) in Denver, Newago Co., MI. They were the parents of 15 children. Teresa died on 13 Aug. 1924 in Troy, NH. Hoxey died on 27 June 1929, also in Troy. Hoxey outlived only two of his 15 children having lost 13 during his lifetime.
