LONDONDERRY -- Death of Eli Hart;

News has been received here of the death of Eli R. Hart, 78, of Laporte, Ind. Mr Hart was an uncle of Ed Slate of this place, and lived in Landgrove and Peru many years. He was also well known in this vicinity.

He was a veteran of the Civil War, and was 1st Lieutenant of Company H, 11th Vermont Volunteers. He went to Laporte several years ago, and held many prominent offices there. He was also a 2d Degree Mason.
