Obituary

The Vermont Tribune, March 18, 1892

Alexander Stewart died at his home yesterday morning, at the age of 88 years and three months. He enlisted in 1864 in the 17th VT. Regiment and served until 1865. He was a faithful soldier and well-known citizen. He lived in Cavendish, 35 years and leaves an invalid wife who cannot long survive him, and two sons, Samuel L. of Felchville and Matthew of this village The funeral will be held at his late residence tomorrow at 10 o'clock.
