Vermont Journal, July 12, 1902

"Intelligence has been received of the death by paralysis in New Orleans, the 16th ult, of Charles D. Sturtevant. He was born in Vermont nearly sixty years ago, and worked for a time in the old armory in Windsor. During the civil war, he enlisted in the 1st Vermont battery. He was discharged from the service in New Orleans, and thereafter made his home there. He was a son of the late George F. Sturtevant of Hartland, and is survived by a son and two daughters.
