DEATH OF OLD RESIDENTS;
Rutland-May 27--Two of Rutland County’s oldest residents passed away yesterday from senile debility. Jeremiah Thornton, who died at 5 a.m. at his home in Ira, was a life long resident of the town. He was 85 years old, and was in the legislature three terms nearly half a century ago. He was a farmer.
Charles Stiles was born in Pittsford 76 years ago, and had always lived here, passed away at 3 a. m. . He was a veteran of Company G., 12th Vermont regiment. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Frank Brown, of Roxbury.
