SUICIDE. Willard Sumner, of Hartwellville, (Readsboro) committed suicide by shooting himself in his house on Friday the 24th ult. He took down his gun and told his little boy he was going to kill himself. The boy ran to a neighbor's to call him in to prevent it, but before he returned the deed was done. He apparently placed the muzzle of his gun under his chin and fired it, tearing his head to pieces in a frightful manner.
