The Caledonian, May 16, 1862

Killed in the skirmish at Warwick Creek, April 16th, Frank J. Thomas, only son of Mrs. Sarah Aldrich pf Burke, aged 16 years and 8 months. He was a member of Co. E., 3rd Vt. Regt, and a brave soldier, and fell at his post being foremost in his ranks. Thou are gone dear Brother, forever farewell. Bright angels have called thee home; Thy spirit, to pure in the cold world to dwell; Unfettered in Heaven shall roam.
