About now we must record the death of another of our old soldiers and citizen. Henry Tyler, who died Saturday.

He was born in New York State in 1837, moved to Vermont when a young man, entered the army in 1862, came to kansas in 1878 with his widowed sister, Mrs. Shaw, and located on the farm on the Smokey, and moved up to Hays ten years ago, and remained here making many warm friends.

The funeral was held at the family home Sunday afternoon, Rev. Hale in charge and made an appropriate address, a large crowd off sympathizing friends being present. Burial in the family lot in our cemetery, and services conducted by the G. A. R. Post.
