Sergeant Daniel F. Wilder of Sheldon, of Co. B, First Vermont Cavalry Regiment, died at Finley Hospital, Washington, D.C., Dec. 23, 1864 in the 24th year of his age. He was a wounded in the engagement at Brandy Station, October 11th, being the same one in which Capt. W.M. Beaman, of St. Albans, and others were taken prisoner. Sergeant Wilder's body was embalmed and sent home to Sheldon for interment.
