BENSON --- James Young, who made his home at W. S. Barber's in the east part of town, died Friday after a lingering illness. He was born in Canada 84 years ago, and was the son of the late James Young. He served in the Civil War with credit, and at the battle of Fredericksburg got a wound in his left arm that shattered the bone, and from which he never fully recovered. The funeral was held on Sunday, the Rev. James A. Manning officiating.
