Obituary
Events in the State of Maine
Chauncey R. Berry, a member of the Portland city council from Ward 8, died Saturday. He was one of the early gold seekers in California, served through the Civil War, was city marshal of Deering, and afater its annexation to Portland a member of the council. He was 63 years of age.
