Again the creator has visited our midst and taken another old resident, viz: Wesley F. Hayward. He was born in West Burke, in 1845, being 69 years old. He was a good neighbor, a kind father, and always a busy man, laboring to support his family which consisted of his wife, four sons, a daughter, and an adopted daughter, all of whom survive him. In 1863 he answered his countries call, shouldered arms and march off to war where he remained until peace was declared. His funeral services were held at the Congregational church, Saturday, Aug. 29, Rev. C. E. Gordon officiating.
