Charles Venson of Burlington, a veteran of the civil war, 63 years of age, was wounded in 1864 by being shot in the right hip with two bullets. One of these came out soon afterward, perfectly whole, but a piece of the other remained imbedded in the flesh for 35 years until last week, when, much to Mr. Venson's surprise, it worked its way out. The bullet was flattened to about the thickness of two pennies, and was about as large as a cent. It weighed about an ounce.
