Tombstone Inscription

He was commissioned as Capt., Co. I, Penn. Reserve Cavalry Feb. 1863, served with distinction in the different engagements which his regiment participated from the Battle of Gettysburg to the fight of Reams Station, in every encounter with the enemy he displayed the daring courage of a true soldier and the bravery characteristic of his native land. He died from disease contracted in his arduous duties and sleeps in peace neath the soil for which his life was given as a sacrifice to assist in making free.
