Edward Battles died at his home in Duxbury Sunday afternoon at the age of 57 years, of consumption. He leaves a wife and four sons to grieve his absence. He was a soldier of the late war, having enlisted in Company E, 33d Massachusetts regiment, and served over three years. He was respected by all who knew him. His funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. A. J. Covell officiating.
