Edward Battles died at his home in Duxbury Sunday at the age of 57 of consumption. He leaves a wife and four sons to grieve his absence

He was a soldier of the late war, having enlisted in Company E, 33d Massachusetts regiment, and served over three years He was respected by all that knew him. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. A. J. Covell officiating.
