William H. Sterling, 84, Dies

William H. Sterling, age 84, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Hagan on Sunday, September 28, after a short illness. He was born in Moriah, NY on May 12, 1846. He was the son of Charles Sterling. He was a veteran soldier, belonging to Company 4 (sic) of the Fifth Regiment of New York. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles Hagan of Leicester; and two sons, Ernest Sterling of Winooski, and Emery Sterling of Granville; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Brick church Tuesday at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Frank Powers officiated. Burial was in East Middlebury.
