Theodore Southard

Rutland Daily Herald, Sept. 28, 1899:

The body of Theodore Southard, who died at the soldiers' home in Bennington Tuesday morning, will be brought to Rutland on the 11.00 o'clock train this morning and will be taken to Evergreen cemetery for burial. Roberts post will act as escort for the body from the depot to the cemetery. Mr. Southard was about 70 years of age. He was for many years an employee of the Rutland railroad, and was well known in this city. He was a member of the 12th Vermont volunteers during the civil war, and entered the soldiers' home at Bennington about two years ago.
