Sep. 18, 1873

Nelson O. Bowen, brother of James L. Bowen formerly of this village, was killed at Montague City on Tuesday of last week, while coupling cars on the Vt. and Mass. R.R. The deceased was 28 years old and leaves a wife and child. He, with his brother, served in the late war, and won a good reputation as a soldier.
