ANOTHER OLD SOLDIER DEAD.
William H. Smith of West Rutland Had Been Ill But a Week.
Rutland, Jan. 26. - William H. Smith died at his home, No. 24 Franklin street, West Rutland, Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. He had been ill with pneumonia for about a week. Mr. Smith was a Civil war veteran and 70 years old. He had lived at West Rutland for the last 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, one son, G.W. Smith of Arizona, a step-daughter, Mrs. F.W. Smith of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Julia Johnson of Forestdale.
