The funeral of John Thomas, colored, an inmate at the Soldiers Home, was held Tuesday afternoon at the institution. Mr. Thomas was a private in Co. H., 109th U. S. Colored Infantry. He entered the home from Burlington Dec. 2, 1910. He was born November 25, 1843. At the time he enlisted he was a slave.
