The death of Thomas L, Tucker at West Newbury, at age 71, removes a well known and successful teacher of vocal music. He was a drummer for Co. D., 1st Vermont regiment, and acted in that capacity in the first battle of the rebellion, that of Big Bethel, June 10, 1861.
