Obituary
Eben J. Bruce, whose parents were pioneers in Westmore, died in West Charleston recently, and of the family of 11 children only one remains. Mr. Bruce, who had reached the age of 86 years, was a veteran of the Civil war, serving three years as corporal and sergeant in Co. K, 10th Vt. For nine years he was one of the selectmen and during this time he succeeded in paying off the town's indebtedness.
