J.C. Masure, who went to Burlington a few weeks ago for medical treatment, died last Saturday from a complication of diseases. His remains were brought here and the funeral was held from the Advent Church Tuesday at 2 o'clock. The deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. F. S. Hazard, of North Hyde Park, and Mrs. J. O. George of Gorham, N.H., two sisters, Mrs. Ann Woods of North Hyde Park, and Mrs. J. M. Foss of Morrisville, and a brother, Harrison Masure of Concord.

Judson Chase Masure, who died last week, was one of six children of Peter and Olive Masure, and was born in Cambridge May 19, 1834. His early life was spent in Lowell, Mass., and in 1866 he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Foss of North Hyde Park. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. F.S. Hazard of North Hyde Park, and Mrs J.O. George of Gorham, N.H., and with his wife, survrive him.
Mr. Masure enlisted in Co. B. 12th Maine, serving three years. He then re-enlisted, and stayed until the close of the war, being in Libby Prison for six months. He was well known in this vicinity, and highly respected.
