Samuel A. C. Atwood, aged 67 years, and a native of Barnard, died Sunday at the soldiers home in Chelsea, Mass. He served through the war as a private in Company E., 4th Vermont Infantry.

After the war he practiced law for many years in Boston. He entered the home Feb. 18. His death was not unexpected. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Carolyn Atwood of Mattapan.
