Funeral of Frank L. Austin
The funeral services of Frank L. Austin of Colchester, late of Co. H, 1st Vermont volunteers, took place at the school house near the Fannie Allen hospital yesterday morning, Rev. Gemont Graves officiating. A delegation of Stannard post No. 2, G.A.R. was present. The bearers were James B. Scully, Michael F. Kelly, Loomis J. Smith, Richard D. Wheeler, Henry J. Vancor and Charles H. Whitney. The interment was in the cemetery near by. At the close of the services at the grave, Trumpeter Moyers of Troop G, 3d United States cavalry, sounded taps. The large number of friends and neighbors who were present sympathize most deeply with the family of fatherless and motherless children.
